MPSRx Integration with Pharmacy Management Systems MPSRx has recently added their leave of absence (LOA) message notifier, a module that communicates with QS/1. This essentially is a messenger from MPSRx to the pharmacy that allows residents medications to be sent with them on their leave of absence without requiring a phone call or fax to the pharmacy. This feature exhibits the power and flexibility of the MPSRx pharmacy automation package.

Live Performance Analysis Feature Added With the introduction of the MPSRx live performance analysis feature, nurses may request assistance using the system check at any time via an easy to use and understand graphical interface. The check includes a bandwidth test which notifies the technology department of any network issues. This effectively troubleshoots network issues at any time that may slow down the electronic process.

Batch Formulary Checks Feature Added MPS has recently added Batch Formulary Checks to their paperless pharmacy system. This new feature allows medical staff to pick up a patient's file at anytime to check for their formulary coverage. The system also checks for possible alternative medications as well. Staff members can also check patient profile summaries for formulary compliance at any time.

Auto Generic Substition Feature Added to MPSRx Millennium Pharmacy has recently added a new feature to their pharmacy automation software package that processes auto generic substitutions for prescriptions. The new feature adds logic that automatically reads the pharmacy's inventory on hand and then creates the automatic generic substitution.
The process works like this: When an order is created, usually the physician enters the brand name of the drug, not the generic name. Since most insurances don't cover brand names of drugs, the MPSRx solution substitutes the medication for the generic name. For example, Coumadin would be substituted with Warfarim. The physician needs only to recognize the brand name to submit the prescription. MPSRx automatically substitutes the medication with the generic equivalent for them. 200512/13/2005Medicare Part D Processes Made Simple with Real-time Formulary Checks Feature Added to MPSRx Millennium Pharmacy's newly added feature performs a real-time system check to recognize orders (during order entry) for PDP status and warns users of prior authorization and non-coverage.
11/17/2005
This feature effectively removes the burden of understanding the Medicare Part D rules. This in turn streamlines the process and also performs stop checks for coverage immediately — all while increasing efficiency and eliminating timely and sometimes useless paths of phone calling, faxing and so on. MPS states that this new feature also checks a patient's profile against their formulary as well. Wall Street Reporter Presents: Millennium Pharmacy Systems, Inc. WEXFORD, Pa., Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Millennium Pharmacy Systems, a privately-held healthcare company providing contract pharmacy services to the long term care industry, announced the recent completion of a $14.5 million equity financing. Order Macros Streamlines Patient Admittance Process This new time-saving feature allows nursing homes to pre-configure common orders including the time consuming admission templates. MPS created the ability to say for every newly admitted patient to automatically generate an order with all the necessary medications and equipment setups automatically.

Clinical Document Links This newly added feature allows the MPSRx system to link specific medications, routes, frequencies and drug classes to requirements for clinical documents. This feature acts as a great reminder for staff to perform other required tasks. For instance, if a staff member administers a blood pressure test, the system requires the blood pressure reading to be entered into the system. This feature helps facilities keep in compliance. Instead of a nurse having to remember to document a blood pressure reading, the system reminds the nurse that the form must be completed before continuing.
20049/4/2004Auto-Approve Special Medication Feature Added to MPSRx Sept 04 Millennium Pharmacy has recently added a new feature to their pharmacy automation software package. In the past, special medications, such as vital signs, blood pressure, water flush (as well as others) had to be entered into the pharmacy system manually.
